The short answer
Slidemate posts through TikTok's official Content Posting API. That is the door TikTok built for apps that publish on your behalf. Your slideshow lands on your profile as a normal TikTok post, with your caption, your settings and your account behind it.
In our own tests across hundreds of posts, slideshows posted through Slidemate got the same kind of reach as slideshows posted from the app. We have never seen a drop we could pin on the tool.
Where the fear comes from
The worry is old. Years ago, some tools posted by pretending to be a phone, or by logging into accounts with a password. That really could get an account in trouble. Official APIs replaced those tricks: you sign in on TikTok, TikTok gives the app permission to post, and every post goes through TikTok itself.
When a post does badly, the tool is an easy thing to blame. But one flop proves nothing: every account has posts that do ten times better or worse than the ones around them.
What actually decides your views
- The first slide. People decide in a second whether to swipe. A hook that names their problem beats a pretty photo.
- The account. A brand new account that has never scrolled or engaged gets less reach at first. Warm it up for a few days before posting.
- Consistency. Posting every day for weeks teaches TikTok who to show you to. Bursts and long gaps undo that.
- Swipes, saves and shares. Slideshows that make people swipe to the end, save or share get pushed further.
- Sound. A trending sound can help. Let TikTok add a suggested sound when you approve the post, or send the slideshow to your drafts and pick one yourself.
How to check it on your own account
- 1For two weeks, post a few slideshows from Slidemate and a few from the TikTok app, at similar times of day.
- 2Use the same kind of hooks and photos for both, so the tool is the only difference.
- 3Compare the median views, not the best or the worst post. One outlier skews everything.
The bottom line
Posting through the official API does not cost you views. Spending your time on hooks and consistency, instead of exporting and uploading slides by hand, is what moves the numbers. That is the part Slidemate takes off your plate.
Can I still add a trending sound?
Yes. Let TikTok add a suggested sound when you approve the post, or send it to your drafts and pick any sound in the TikTok app.
Is sending to drafts better than posting directly?
Only if you want to add a sound or edit in the app. Both end up as normal posts on your profile.
Why did one of my posts get 0 views?
Zero views usually points to the account, not the post: a new account that was not warmed up, or one TikTok is limiting. See how to start a new account.
