Who is responsible

Slidemate is run by Tom Nsengiyumva, sole trader (eenmanszaak) registered in Belgium, Minderbroedersstraat 10, 8000 Brugge, Belgium. Enterprise number 1022.549.155, VAT BE1022549155. He is the controller of your personal data. Reach him at hello@slidemate.app.

The short version

• We keep only what the app needs to work: your account, your slideshows and your image library.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third party trackers. If you accept cookies, we count visits and clicks with our own analytics.
• Pinterest boards you add are public boards; we never ask for your Pinterest password or account.
• If you connect TikTok, we only read your profile and video stats and post what you ask us to post. You can disconnect it anytime.
• You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings, instantly.

What we keep

Your account. Your email address, your name if you add one, your profile picture if you upload one, and your password. We never store your password itself, only a salted hash that cannot be turned back into it.

Sign in with Google. If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Slidemate. We use them only to create your account and sign you in, and we never get your Google password or anything else from your Google account.

What you make. Your slideshows, the text and drawings on them, the images in your library, your folders and which images you marked as favorites.

Boards and connections. If you add a Pinterest board, we keep its link, its name and the list of its public pins. If you connect an AI assistant through the MCP, we keep a record of that connection and what it is doing right now, so it can keep working and Slidemate can show it, until you disconnect it.

Sign in. One cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is needed for the app to work and is not used for anything else. Your theme and default slide settings are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.

Analytics, only if you accept. When you accept cookies, your browser keeps a random visitor id, and we record the pages you open and the buttons you click on our website, sign up and plans pages, with your country and device type. We use it to see what works and make Slidemate better. It runs on our own servers, is never linked to your account, email or IP address, and is never shared or sold. We keep it for up to 25 months. If you decline, none of this is recorded; you can change your choice anytime by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Technical logs. Like every website, our hosting records basic request details such as time, address requested and errors. We use them only to keep Slidemate running and secure, and they are kept for a short time.

Pinterest

Adding Pinterest boards is optional and needs no Pinterest account. When you paste a link to a public board, Slidemate reads that board's public pins (their images and titles) and keeps the list in your account, where only you can see it.

Slidemate never posts, edits or deletes anything on Pinterest. We only copy the pins you choose into your own library. Remove a board at any time on the Pinterest page. Pins you already added to your library stay there until you delete them.

TikTok

Connecting a TikTok account is optional. You sign in on TikTok itself; we never see your TikTok password. With your permission, TikTok gives Slidemate:

• Your basic profile (user.info.basic and user.info.profile): your TikTok user id, display name, username, profile picture, bio, profile link and whether you are verified. We show them on the Brand page and the Post page so you know which account posts.
• Your stats (user.info.stats): follower, following, like and video counts, shown on Home.
• Your videos (video.list): your latest public videos with their captions, cover images and view, like, comment and share counts, shown on Home and used to suggest what to post next. When you connect your own AI assistant, it can read the same information to make slideshows in the style that works for you.
• Posting (video.publish and video.upload): Slidemate posts photos to your account, or sends them to your TikTok inbox as a draft, only when you click Post, Schedule or Send to drafts, with the privacy, comment and disclosure settings you choose. Slide images are kept only until TikTok has received them, then deleted.

TikTok also gives us access tokens so we can do this without asking you to sign in every time. We store them encrypted and use them only for the actions above. We never sell TikTok data, never use it for ads, and never share it with anyone except the AI assistant you connect yourself.

To disconnect, remove the account on the Brand page: its tokens and stats are deleted right away. You can also remove Slidemate's access in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy, Security, Manage app permissions. Deleting your Slidemate account removes all TikTok data too.

AI assistants

Slidemate works with the AI assistant you choose, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Cursor, through its MCP connector. Nothing is shared with an assistant until you connect it and allow it. Once connected, the assistant can see and change your slideshows and library, and search Pexels, whenever you ask it to. What you write in that chat, and the slideshows and image previews it looks at, are handled by the company behind that assistant under its own terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect an assistant anytime on the MCP page.

Slidemate does not use your content to train any AI model.

Why we use it

• To provide Slidemate (your account, slideshows, library, posting and billing): because it is needed for our contract with you.
• To keep Slidemate safe (bot checks, rate limits, fraud prevention and security logs): our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users.
• With your consent: analytics cookies, and connecting TikTok or Pinterest. You can withdraw consent anytime, which does not affect what happened before.
• To meet legal duties, such as keeping billing records for as long as Belgian tax and accounting law requires.

Who else is involved

We share data only with the services Slidemate runs on, and only what each one needs:

• Cloudflare hosts the app and its database, and runs Turnstile, the check that stops bots at sign in. Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots.
• AI assistants you connect, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Cursor, as described above.
• Stripe takes payments and runs subscriptions. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach Slidemate.
• Resend delivers the sign in codes we email you. It receives your email address and the code.
• Anthropic (Claude) and Cloudflare Workers AI answer the questions you type in Ask AI, and Workers AI reads the websites you add on the Brand page. Your questions are not used to train models.
• TikTok, only if you connect it, as described above.
• Pexels receives your photo searches. Photos you pick are copied to your library.
• Pinterest, only if you connect it, as described above.
• Google, only if you choose Continue with Google: it confirms your email address, name and profile picture.

Some of these companies are based outside the European Union, mostly in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU and US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Each company processes data under a data processing agreement with us.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect Slidemate and its users from fraud or abuse.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete something, it is removed right away. When you delete your account in Settings, your account, slideshows, library, keys and connections are all removed. Copies may remain in our hosting provider's backups for up to 30 days before they are gone for good. Billing records are kept for as long as Belgian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to 10 years.

Your choices and rights

You can see, change and delete your information in Settings at any time. You also have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you gave. Email hello@slidemate.app for any of these; we answer within one month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussel, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be) or to the authority where you live.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed, and sign in needs a code sent to your email. Sign in is also protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. No service is perfectly secure, so use a password you do not use anywhere else.

Children

Slidemate is made for adults running a business or a creator account and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly keep information about children. If you think a child made an account, email hello@slidemate.app and we delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we let you know in the app or by email before it applies.
