Apps that grew with slideshows
- Cardstock and Scanémon, two card scanning apps. Founder Kyle Fowler repeats one format: show a card, scan it in the app, reveal what it is worth. Superwall reported 27 million views for $2,600 in December 2025, with more than 7,600 posts a month made by paid creators. In a June 2026 Starter Story interview he said Cardstock had about 15,000 active subscriptions. (Superwall)
- Stronger, a workout tracker. It posts one simple image format in hundreds of variations. Superwall reported 1.2 million users and $600K in yearly revenue in October 2025; its top slideshow has passed 40 million views. (Superwall)
- Soli, a UK social app, used photo carousels as paid TikTok ads: 38% lower cost per install and 1.78 times more clicks, according to TikTok. (TikTok for Business)
- Vitamasques, a skincare brand, saw twice the click rate of its video ads with carousels, and about three times the conversion rate of the average TikTok video ad, according to TikTok. (TikTok for Business)
These companies are not Slidemate customers. Their results are public, and we link to where each one was reported.
What they have in common
- One format, repeated. Each found a format that works and posted it again and again with new hooks, instead of inventing something new every day.
- Volume. Hundreds or thousands of posts, not a handful. Slideshows make that possible because each one takes minutes, not hours.
- The product as the answer. The slideshow is about something the viewer cares about, and the app shows up as the way to get it.
What TikTok says about photo posts
TikTok launched photo mode, its carousel format, in October 2022, and has pushed it since. In February 2024 TikTok told creators that photo posts get on average 2.9 times more comments, 1.9 times more likes and 2.6 times more shares than videos, according to Modern Retail. TikTok did not publish how it measured this.
Independent studies are more mixed. Fanpage Karma found carousels got more engagement than videos in early 2025, while Metricool found videos got more views on average in 2026. So the honest claim is not that slideshows always beat video. It is that they are far cheaper and faster to make, so you can post enough of them to find the ones that take off.
What to expect
Most slideshows get modest views. A few take off, and those bring the customers. That is why consistency matters more than any single post: one to three slideshows a day per account, for weeks, gives TikTok enough to learn who your audience is and gives you enough tries to find your winning format.
